Recently we undertook an analysis of driver licence services provided across all resettlement locations so we could ensure there is equitable access to driver training in all resettlement locations.

We have completed the procurement process for driver licensing programs that complement other government funded services and cater specifically to refugee learners. We are pleased to announce the following providers selected through a competitive tender process:

  • Change Makers Resettlement Forum (Levin/Wellington/Palmerston North)
  • Hamilton Multicultural Services Trust (Hamilton)
  • YMCA (Timaru)
  • The UMMA Trust (Auckland)
  • Southern REAP (Invercargill)
  • Aukaha (Dunedin)
  • Malborough REAP (Blenheim/Nelson)

These providers will play a vital role in helping refugees secure their driver’s licenses, promoting self-sufficiency, and enhancing employment prospects and community involvement.

Our refugee driver training program is designed to work in conjunction with other government-funded initiatives, aiming to improve overall access to driver training for refugee learners. Our focus is on strategically allocating funding to maximise benefits for refugees, ensuring the most significant impact possible.
