The Ukraine Resident Visa category will close to new applications on 16 March 2026.
Anyone holding a Special Ukraine Visa wanting to remain in New Zealand permanently, must apply for residence on or before 16 March 2026.
Applications received after 16 March 2026 cannot be accepted under current policy settings.
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) encourages eligible applicants to apply as soon as possible to avoid missing this opportunity.
Individuals in New Zealand on a Special Ukraine Visa can apply for another Special Ukraine Visa while they wait for the outcome of their residence application. This ensures they can remain lawfully in New Zealand while their residence application is being processed.
Ukrainian Ukraine Residence Visa eligibility
To be eligible for this visa, the principal visa applicant must have arrived in New Zealand on a 2022 Special Ukraine Visa on or before 15 March 2024.
The applicant can add their partner and dependent children to their visa application.
All applicants must:
