Immigration update for migrants in New Zealand! From 3 November 2025, Immigration New Zealand will officially recognize 91 new occupations for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) — covering skill levels 1 to 3.
If you’re currently working in a skill level 4 or 5 role, and your experience matches one of these new positions, you could apply for a further AEWV and extend your maximum stay to 5 years. This is huge news for work visa NZ holders, Skilled Migrant Category applicants, and anyone eyeing residence visas or permanent residency New Zealand.
There’s more: a new 12-month visa pathway is coming for AEWV holders close to their maximum stay who need extra time to meet SMC work experience requirements — provided you meet the wage rate.
